Basic Info

Name: Ichitenbun Gekkou ((Ee-chee-ten-bun, Ge-cow))

Nickname/Alias:

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Important Family Members:

Personality:
Combat:
Gekkou is a tricky bastard. He uses genjutsu upon genjutsu in multi-layered assaults on his opponent's mind, and allows for little chance of the opponent surviving his attacks. If he doesn't think and attack will be at least minimally effective he won't use it. Gekkou is an intense thinker, but he is by no means slow in coming up with a strategy. He thinks on his feet, spending the first chunk of a battle to completely measure his opponent before deciding the best way to take him down. He is vicious, leaving no opportunity for survival at all. However, he is not cruel, any and all kills he makes are quick and as painless as he can make them. While in combat he disregards both his allies and his opponents, and would sooner run his ally through to get to his enemy than he would take a hit for them. In the heat of battle he shows no mercy for those who get in the way, because it is their fault. He will fight anyone but children, purely because he wants them to grow and become a real threat so that their death will be a greater honor down the road.

Interaction with people:
Gekkou is very personable. He really enjoys chatting with people, and often finds himself disguised in some bar or another so that he can chat without fear of shinobi assaulting him. He likes to think of himself as the ambassador of the Akatsuki, because he is the best with conversation and negotiation. He is extremely charismatic, but it goes more deeply than that. His blunt honesty and ability to read people allows him to get deep inside people's heads fast. He can figure someone out simply through their mannerisms, physical appearance, reactions, and even what they say. With this he can either break them with a few sentences or get a woman to fall for him easily. This comes in handy often, as it allows him to pull cons and gain trust without all that much in the way of effort. He loves being the one that everyone likes but no one talks to, because he honestly hates attention, but he hates loneliness even more.

Self-esteem:
Gekkou is outwardly a very confident person. He fronts his confidence to keep people from finding his weak points. When he talks he seems arrogant, confident, and strong-willed. On the inside he lacks all arrogance, confidence, and strength in will. If it weren't for his rank he would most likely break down at the slightest insult, but he forces himself to remain strong and keep acting the way he does because of the rank he holds in his village. If one of his rank were to break down because someone made a jab at his dead mother the entire village would lose respect for them. He truly hates himself, both for what hes done and what he can't do. Mentally he is constantly telling himself that he can't do things and that he sucks at everything he tries, even when its obvious that he doesn't.

Likes/Dislikes/Favorites/Fears/Ideals:
Gekkou is a lover of foods and flowers, he spends most of his time in the Sand Greenhouse purely because he loves the brilliance of life in an expanse of drought and death. He really likes reading, and is often found walking around with his nose in a book, which usually ends in him hitting a person or a wall. His life is his music, he is always listening to it and finding more music to listen to and enjoy. He does not like pain, or people who talk about what they don't know. He hates being picked on, and seeing others get picked on. Not a fan of violence, Gekkou prefers dispatching of people with words or at least genjutsu to avoid bloodshed. His favorite food is sushi, he could eat it all day. He loves the colors silver and black, though he is often the first to point out that black isn't actually a color. He is afraid of drowning, ironically, and of being left alone. Gekkou wants to see a world where everyone is cared for, no one is forsaken, and even orphans in a rough neighborhood can sleep without fear.

General Appearance

Basic looks
Null was asking for one? 04af9565
Head & Face:
Gekkou has deep brown eyes, and shaggy brown hair. He keeps it short in the back, and long enough in the front and sides to cover the tops of his ears and fall in front of his face every-so-often. He generally sweeps his bangs over to the left, causing them to rest on his forehead as opposed to sitting in his eyes. Gekkou has a childish face, small and round. His chin is rounded, his lips thin. He has a cute button nose, and large eyes that always seem to be taking in information. Gekkou has no scars on his face, but running from behind his ear to about the middle of his neck is a scar from a fight back in his childhood that never went away. His ears are small and slightly pointed, giving him an all-around elfish appearance. Gekkou is often found wearing some form of fedora or other hat to block out the sun from his face. He loves listening to music, and always has headphones either around his neck on over his ears.

Upper Body:
Gekkou, having trained in taijutsu for nearly 9 years, has a well-built body. However, his muscles are compact and don't show very well. In other words, he has a lot of muscle, but he doesn't look like a body builder. His veins are always bulging on his arms because of the muscles he has, his skin pale which defines these veins even more. His hands are small, and a bit on the thick side. His fingers are longer but they also have a certain thickness to them, his knuckles bulging and bony creating a painful effect in his punches for both him and his opponents. Most of his height is in his legs, so his torso is short, but this only shows when he sits down. He is extremely skinny, his ribs showing slightly when his shirt is off. He has a six pack, but hides it with baggy t-shirts. Gekkou enjoys wearing t-shirts and a dress shirt over it, generally in matching colors. The T-shirts usually have some random, cool graphic on them, sometimes advertising the artists he listens to.

Lower Body:
The majority of Gekkou's height is in his legs. They are long, and powerful. The muscles on his legs, like the rest of his body, are compact but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Like most men he has larger feet, which he keeps protected with hardened leather combat boots. The boots have zippers up the side as opposed to laces, making it much easier for him to slide them on and off. He enjoys wearing jeans, which are usually covered in ink because of the doodles he makes on them when he is sitting down and doesn't want to pay attention to anything. His jeans are generally worn and torn a bit because of the nature of his job. He enjoys wearing random belts, generally studded or otherwise decorated in random dark fashions. His favorite belt to wear, however, is a simple belt with a black and white checkered pattern.

Distinguishing Features/Tattoos/Jewelry/etc.:
Gekkou only has a few distinguishing features. The first is his dress style, as few dress the way he does in his village. The second is the scar on his neck, a unique one that could be used to identify him should he became a criminal once again. He enjoys wearing random wrist bands, generally with a cool graphic or quote on it, sometimes even song lyrics. Gekkou wears a lot of rings, mainly just metal bands and ones with random patterns, they change every day. However, the one that remains the same is the one on his right ring finger. This ring is an extravagant ring with a purple gem in the center and an angel theme to it. Gekkou has no tattoos, or scars other than the one on his neck.

Bloodline Information

Kekkei Genkai: Keireime

Description: The Ichitenbun's kekkei genkai was nicknamed the Keireime, or Executioner's Eye. The Eye is said to be a mutation of the sharingan that holds the complete counter of the illustrious kekkei genkai. The clan of Ichitenbun, though originally found in the Leaf, switched its loyalties to the Mist only sixty years after the development of their ability. They felt it was their destiny to wipe Uchiha off of the face of the planet for life. Naturally, they were disappointed when the Uchiha known as Itachi slaughtered his clan. Their eye held the key to combating one of the most powerful doujutsu in history. The eye grants the user one of several abilities. New abilities are unlocked with each 'hue' or level. The first ability is to cast anyone who comes into eye contact with them into a spell that speeds up what they see tenfold. It is a form of genjutsu that can rarely be broken. The second ability is that the eye allows the user to recognize the opponent's genjutsu and counter them. This ability comes in the second 'hue'. The third and final ability is the ability to put a victim under a genjutsu much like Tsukiyomi. However, instead of being almost mentally lethal, this genjutsu simply causes the opponent to shut their eyes and never open them again. The genjutsu casts them into a world of darkness, an illusion that the user has gone blind.

The kekkei genkai first activates when a member of the clan goes up against the sharingan for the first time. Much like the sharingan, the Keireime's second hue activates when the user is pushed to a level well beyond their limit, or under an extremely stressful position. The final hue, however, can only be activated if the user makes a 'pact' with another person((players only, no NPC's)). This pact is basically a contract that both sign in their own blood by making the Ichitenbun clan symbol on their body. This contract connects their lifeline, meaning that if the person who signs the contract dies the clan member loses their third hue. Members of the contract can feel when the other is in danger, and contract members often create a summoning jutsu for the other contract member.

The drawbacks to the Keireime are similar to those of the sharingan. The chakra drain is there, but it is so minimal that a user could practically have it permenantly activated. However, after thirteen uses of the third hue the user bleeds from their eyes, usually resulting in death.
First Hue:

Second Hue:
Null was asking for one? Purple_eye__by_mikidenial

Third Hue:
Null was asking for one? Abstract_eye_by_jphaywood12
Physical Traits I'm not sure if this is a physical trait, but the clan members are naturally attuned to Suiton, having less difficulty in mastering it. It's almost always the main element of the clan members.

Ability Overview
-First Hue: Perception genjutsu
-Second Hue: Genjutsu Counter
-Third Hue: Access to S-ranked genjutsu/seal.

Primary Element Suiton
Secondary Element Fuuton
Advanced Element (E-S, Rank being equivalent to your rank, Jounin and up only
Combination (Only if Clan based.)

Jutsu (If they All don't fit, put in another post)
Academy Ninjutsu:
* Name: Clone Technique 分身の術, Bunshin no Jutsu; Viz "Art of the Doppleganger"* Type: E-rank, Supplementary
* Hand Seals: Ram → Snake → Tiger
This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

* Name: Transformation Technique 変化の術, Henge no Jutsu
* Type: E-rank, Supplementary
* Hand Seals: Dog → Boar → Tiger
This jutsu allows the user to assume the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konohagakure Ninja Academy. Fundamentally, all ninja know this jutsu. The transformation technique is considered to be among the more difficult E-ranked techniques, since it requires constant emission of chakra while mentally maintaining the form. On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on the inexperienced ninja.

* Name: Body Replacement Technique 変わり身の術, Kawarimi no Jutsu
* Type: E-rank, Supplementary
* Hand Seals: Ram → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Exploding tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.

The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

* Name: Body Flicker Technique 瞬身の術, Shunshin no Jutsu
* Type: D-rank, Supplementary
This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and their intended destination. Shisui Uchiha was feared as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" (瞬身のシスイ, Shunshin no Shisui), likely referring to this technique.

The Body Flicker Technique has various variations among the different hidden villages, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand. Gaara, for instance, uses the Sand Body Flicker (砂瞬身, Suna-Shunshin), which uses sand to cover his movements. Other varieties include the Mist Body Flicker (霧瞬身, Kiri-Shunshin), Water Body Flicker (水瞬身, Mizu-Shunshin), and Leaf Body Flicker (木ノ葉瞬身, Konoha-Shunshin).

Genjutsu:
* Name: Bringer-of-Darkness Technique 黒暗行の術, Kokuangyo no Jutsu
* Type: A-rank, Supplementary, Short to mid-range (0-10m)
* Hand Seal: Tiger
This jutsu makes the target think that they are surrounded by total darkness, allowing the user to attack unseen. Although it negates sight, it does not stop the other senses. In essence, the opponent can sense, hear and smell out the user of the technique and break its effects by landing one hit.

* Name: Flower Ninja Art: Maximum Cutting Hana Ninpō: Kyōka Sai
* Type: Genjutsu, Offensive, Short to mid-range (0-10m)
The user will cast an illusion which surrounds the target in flower petals and darken the surroundings around them.

* Name: Genjutsu Binding (Genjutsu Shibari)
* Type: A Ranked Genjutsu
As the name suggests, the user binds the opponent in a genjutsu, rendering them incapable of movement.

* Name: Genjutsu Shiranui
* Type: B ranked Genjutsu
This jutsu causes the opponent to see six copies of the user that all detonate simultaneously.

* Name: Genjutsu: Flower Petal Escape Genjutsu: Hanachiri Nuko
* Type: B rank, Supplementary, Short range (0-5m)
* Hand Seals: Tiger → Boar → Tiger → Horse → Ox
When trapped inside of a genjutsu or wishing to appear trapped,the user uses this jutsu to dissolve her body into many flower petals which then consume her enemy's body.

* Name: Genjutsu: Haze
* Type: Offensive, Short range (0-5m)
The user creates a clone which charges up to the opponent and on contact explodes into a pile of flowers.

* Name: Mist Servant Technique 霞従者の術, Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu
* Type: D-rank, Supplementary
This genjutsu creates clones that phase in and out of the ground as if they were made of a blackish, oil-like liquid. When attacked, the clones regenerate themselves. The clones can be controlled to make it seem as if they're throwing kunai. The user can then time their attacks with those of the clones.

* Name: Sly Mind Affect Technique 狐狸心中の術, Kori Shinchū no Jutsu
* Type: C-rank, Supplementary, Mid to long range (5m+)[1]
This jutsu causes the enemy to walk around in circles for hours by making it seem as if they're walking straight to their desired destination. The enemy eventually becomes exhausted after traveling the same path over and over.

* Name: Temple of Nirvana Technique 涅槃精舎の術, Nehan Shōja no Jutsu
* Type: A-rank, Supplementary, All ranges
* Hand Seal: Tiger
This jutsu causes everyone within a specific area to fall into a deep sleep. From the target's point of view, it seems as if feathers are falling from the sky, which serves as a distraction to allow the jutsu to take effect. The downside, however, is that it takes a fair amount of time to take effect, and any experienced ninja have more than enough time to dispel it.

Name: Reversal of Blood - Gyakuten no Chi
Rank: B
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu requires activation of the Keireime. A rendition of the uchiha technique, this genjutsu will first recognize the genjutsu being cast upon the user. Then, the opponent will be suddenly cast under a genjutsu that they have been placed under their own genjutsu. Naturally, this breaks the genjutsu that the user was placed under.

Name: Superficial Execution - Asai Keiriku
Rank: B
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu is activated through eye contact. The opponent is cast into a genjutsu in which they see themselves being struck by a thousand kunai coming at them from every direction. However, these wounds are superficial, barely bleeding. They will then be struck by sea water, the salt within it stinging their wounds and placing them in a massive amount of pain.

Name: Black Cat
Rank: C
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu is basically the polar opposite of rabbit's foot. It causes the opponent to believe a black cat walked in front of them. From then on their reaction time dulls, and they begin to see visions of things happening that they would consider 'bad luck'. Like a tree falling down on them.

Name: Blind as a Bat
Rank: C
Element: N/A
Description: The polar opposite to Cat's eyes. The opponent will begin to lose their eye sight, becoming more blind and unable to see anything beyond five feet in front of them. However, if it becomes dark the genjutsu is broken.

Name: Rabbit's foot
Rank: D
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu is a simple one. It causes the target to find a rabbit's foot in their hand. They suddenly believe that they are extremely lucky, giving them a boost in self confidence. While under the spell of this genjutsu their reaction time will increase slightly.

Name: Cat's Eyes
Rank: C
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu is a simple one. It causes the target to believe that they have obtained the eyesight of a cat's. This will sharpen their eyesight and increase the range in which they can see.

Name: Flee
Rank: C
Element: N/A
Description: This genjutsu activates when the hears the command word. The word is generally "Flee", or "Goodbye". Suddenly, the user will fade out, turning invisible to the targets. This will allow them to escape. However, it will only last for a post, so they need to get out fast,

Elemental Ninjutsu:
Name: Water surge - Mizu Oonami
Rank: C
Element: Water
Description: This ninjutsu is the mark of adulthood for a member of the Ichitenbun clan. The user will first activate hand seals, summoning salt to their mouth and water chakra from their chakra pool. The user will then mix these two, launching them in a way reminiscent of the fireball technique. Unlike the fireball technique, this is a wave of salt-water, causing it to sting if the opponent is wounded before being struck.

Criminal Techniques:
Name: Contract of Souls - Yakujou no Reikon
Rank: S
Element: N/A
Description: This technique is more a ritual than a jutsu. It will begin with both members of the contract causing themselves to bleed. They will then fuse chakra with their blood, painting the symbol of the Ichitenbun clan onto a part of their body. When the contract is completed the blood seeps into their skin, becoming a seal that won't fade until they die. This contract connects the two members of the contract, granting the Ichitenbun member to gain access to the third Hue. However, if the other member of the contract dies, the Ichitenbun member suffers two consequences. First, they experience any pain the contract member felt when they died, second they lose their third hue forever. If the Ichitenbun member dies, so does the contract member. Finally, both contract members may feel when the other member is in danger or pain, giving them the ability to seek them out and help them.

History/Rp Sample

Rp Sample:
Kugo sighed as a man charged at him at full speed. The man was named Haruko, and was a high-level shinigami of the Ragnarock’s 11th division. He raised his blade to Kugo’s rib cage, slashing out at a speed that would amaze and stun most. Kugo simply jumped backward, moving with agility that most wouldn’t expect from someone who focused everything he had into Kidou. However, Kugo had also spent many years training in Shunpo and hand-to-hand combat; he was just not very good with a sword. Haruko continued to slash as Kugo dodged, never coming closer than a half an inch from Kugo. Haruko’s final attack was a clever one. He released his shikai to distract Kugo, casting up a screen of dust because of the force of his reiatsu. As Kugo covered his face, he noticed a movement in the screen. Suddenly, a crescent blade shot forward and toward Kugo’s rib cage. It caught his Haori, and cut it but didn’t reach his skin; Kugo had shunpo’d away too quickly. When the screen cleared Kugo saw Haruko’s shikai for the first time.
The shikai was very similar to a farmer’s scythe, and it looked like it was only good for cutting crops. Kugo contemplated this as Haruko charged once again, the blade coming down on Kugo in a blur of brown and black. Cursing under his breath, he drew Seisen and brought it up to meet the blade. Suddenly, Seisen morphed. In a flash of brilliant purple light it turned into an elegant staff. The staff was made of pure black steel, with a head that looked to be made of amethyst. It was beautifully carved, and gilt in silver. Pushing on the heavy scythe, he sent Haruko back a few meters as he took up a defensive stance. He raised the staff to chest level, keeping it parallel to the ground and firmly grasped in his right hand. He raised his left hand and began to condense reiatsu around it. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens." He commanded, as the reiatsu formed into two blue-white orbs. Hado number seventy-three, Sōren Sōkatsui. Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down!” They shot forward, arching around as they came in to crash on either side of Haruko. As they met they exploded, covering the area in blue-white flames and smoke. When the smoke finally cleared, Haruko was nowhere to be seen. He reappeared to Kugo’s left, only landing for a second before shunpo’ing to his right.
Haruko disappeared once again, reappearing exactly where Kugo had expected: Right above him. The scythe blade came down as Haruko fell straight toward Kugo. Raising his left hand to the sky he didn’t even bother with an incantation. White lightning formed around his finger tips and fired into the air, singing the man’s shoulder and cutting into the bone. ”Hado number four, Byakurai. White Lightning!” He howled in pain, spiraling in the air to land on his feet once again. Dropping the scythe, he cursed under his breath and admitted defeat. There was no way he could continue with the spar without his good arm, no way could he carry his shikai with one hand, and no way could he win without shikai. Kugo bowed to him, sealing his shikai into the form of a blade once again. Placing the blade back in its sheath, he walked over to examine the wound. With little effort he healed it back up, leaving a massive scar as a reminder of the battle. ”Next time, think before you act. You 11th divisions really need to keep a straight head in battle. It isn’t always about going full force.” He said, feeling like he was preaching. As if Haruko knew exactly what Kugo was thinking, he responded in an aggravated tone.

”Alright, alright. Keep your lectures to yourself, old man. I could have beaten you if I wasn’t afraid of killing you.” He said confidently, grabbing his blade with white-knuckle force. He placed the blade back in his black obi sash and stood back up. Cursing under his breath, he turned to leave.
”You’re leaving so soon? So you really don’t want my training?” Kugo asked with mock disappointment. The truth was training 11th division shinigami was a pain for anyone outside of the 11th division. They were so hot headed at times. He smiled at Haruko as he turned slowly, a look of confusion on his face. ”The deal was that if I won you’d train me.” He said to Kugo, obviously not happy about the fact that he had lost. He was even more pissed when he saw Kugo smiling. Turning around, he snapped back his fist in preparation to punch Kugo in the jaw. Suddenly, Kugo was two inches away from him. His slim, bony fingers wrapped around both Haruko’s wrist and his neck. The strength that Kugo possessed was easy to measure when he was that close, and Haruko felt the air draining from his body.
As Haruko gasped for air, Kugo began to talk. ”Listen, Haruko. You don’t like the way I do things you can leave. But never raise a fist to me unless we are training, you got that? Now, it is my obligation to train anyone who wants my training. You were the idiot that made the bet, and I’m a betting man. So, do you want the training or not?” He asked in a slightly malicious tone. Suddenly realizing that Haruko couldn’t speak without oxygen, he loosened his grip on Haruko’s throat and let him drop limply to the ground. Haruko gasped for air, taking in as much as he could for several seconds before wheezing a response. ”Of course I want the damned training. I need my bankai, and I need it fast.”
”Good, we begin next week at dawn. Until then, learn how to think.” Kugo replied, before turning around and walking away from the training arena. When he reached the trees he shunpo’d away, leaving Haruko to think and breathe.

History:
Gekkou was born on a cold October day, the day of the Pagan holiday, All-Hallows Eve. His mother died of complications, bringing him into the world and leaving his father in the process. His father grieved, but chose to keep Gekkou and raise him as his own anyway. However, this would prove much too difficult for Gekkou's father, and the roles would end up changing though Gekkou was still extremely young. They lived in a bad part of Konohagakure, just by the southern wall where the only shinobi who patrolled were those who were on wall duty, and they didn't care about what went on below. Gekkou was forced to get tough fast, he taught himself to fight and scare away people even before joining in the Shinobi Academy. Gekkou's father didn't know about Gekkou signing up; he was a carpenter who had a sore spot for shinobi since his late wife had been a kunoichi. So, Gekkou would show up to the first day, filthy and beaten down badly, without a parent. He felt nothing but embarrassment when he saw the condition of all of the other shinobi children, each with one or even two parents holding their hands as they entered the grounds. The teachers caught one look at him, with his long and untidy hair and his torn up clothes that seemed too big for him, and labeled him trouble. They kept a close eye on him, and treated him coldly. All except for one of his teachers. He soon grew close to the teacher, treating him like an uncle or even a second father. This man, who was named Daisuke, showed no prejudice against Gekkou for the place that he lived or the way that he dressed. That was a rare thing, even amongst the students who had outcast him. He was a scumbag, a nobody, a criminal in their eyes, though he had done nothing wrong yet. It was two years into the academy that Gekkou's father died, never telling him of the abilities that Gekkou's blood carried on from his mother's side. Gekkou still lived in the house, alone, trying to make a life for himself. His father's retirement checks had been keeping food on the table and a roof over their head, now Gekkou had to resort to criminal efforts to bring in money. In his side of the village no one cared who did what, so getting away with it was easy, and it brought in just enough to keep him alive. For two years he lived this way, toughening up more and more as he proceeded to develop as a shinobi. It was then that he graduated.

Gekkou graduated in a class of fifteen boys and only seven girls. It was his luck that he would be placed with two women and a female Jounin squad leader. However, he didn't mind. As long as everyone did their job and he stayed out of the drama everything was good. However, he would soon discover that not everything goes according to his plan. The two girls began fighting, becoming catty and seeking for Gekkou to pick a side. Confused, he went to his squad leader. She only laughed, and told him that he should not choose a side, it would only cause trouble. However, Gekkou couldn't do that. He had feelings for the one named Yumi, and wanted nothing more than to take her side. He knew, though, that taking her side would result in breaking the team up. So, he went to Daisuke for advice. Daisuke, ever the romantic, told him to tell Yumi of his feelings. If she felt the same, no amount of teamwork would be able to make up for what she could give him, and if she didn't then life would go on as it was. So, Gekkou went to tell her. Yumi felt the same for Gekkou, and everything seemed fine until their teammate Tetsu found out. Infuriated, she swore that she would never talk to either again unless a mission forced her to. This made training with her difficult, and as a result when they fought on one side their teamwork was off. However, Yumi was far stronger than either of them so she could pick up Tetsu's slack. One day, the power would go to Yumi's head. She wanted to be given a rank she deserved, but the Hokage insisted that she take the Chuunin exam and work for her rank. Infuriated, she left the village. Gekkou was crushed, he had lost his love for power. Determined to show her his own power and join her no matter what it took, he asked his sensei to put them in the Chuunin exam.

Gekkou and Tetsu joined the Chuunin exam together, but after the first two exams they agreed that they were no longer a team. They would not support each other, they would not help each other, and they would not train each other. It ended up being Tetsu's loss, because she would fail the exam. Gekkou was placed against one of the few remaining Uchiha in the world. He had joined the hidden sound village, which had a total of only three squads participating in the Chuunin Exams. While they fought Gekkou was exposed to the Sharingan, and in turn released his own Keireime. This was as much a surprise to him as it was to anyone else, since the Ichitenbun clan had long since moved from the leaf. They fought, and the Uchiha spoke of a girl matching Yumi's description. Gekkou decided that after becoming a chuunin he would leave and seek out the Sound to find Yumi. With his new ability he believed he could match her power. However, the battle wasn't as easy to win as he had expected. Though he was successful in placing the Uchiha under a genjutsu. the Uchiha broke and countered it. It became a battle of genjutsu,one that Gekkou would win. He placed his opponent under a six layer genjutsu composed of six D-C ranked genjutsu. With such a powerful combo, even the Uchiha was overwhelmed. After that it was just a matter of holding a blade to his throat until the referee called it his match. Gekkou would receive his vest within two weeks afterward. The next day he suffocated the guard with that same vest and escaped once he was sure the guard wouldn't follow.

It wouldn't have taken him long to find the sound, but instead he chose to seek out his clan and learn of his own powers so that he would have something to offer to the new village. While stopping in the Mist village he looked through their records, sneaking into the building and hoping they would be none-the-wiser. He was knocked out and captured by two shinobi. Waking up in a dark cellar, he was questioned as to why he was looking up the Ichitenbun clan history and powers. Gekkou revealed his second hue under the stress of believing he would die alone. When the interrogator saw the hue activate, he instantly recognized it and had him released. Gekkou had accidentally found his clan. He was trained by them for two years, given their weapons and taught to use them. They taught him clan techniques and genjutsu, and how to fully master the art of the Keireime. However, the clan would soon find him to be too powerful. They sent a few shinobi to take care of him. However, ever paranoid since the day he spent in the cell, Gekkou was not have be surprised. He preformed a similar combination that he had used in the Chuunin exam to bide him time to escape. On the way out he still information on their most powerful form and how to get it. Off he was to the Sound Village at the age of fifteen.

Gekkou located a member of the Sound village and forced him to take Gekkou to his kage. There he would have a nice conversation with the Sound village leader. The leader had placed him under rigorous tests that not even Gekkou was sure were passable, let alone survivable. However, Gekkou got through them eventually. Impressed by his abilities, the Kage placed him in the ANBU of the Sound village a leader of a squad. He spent a year in the village, learning their hidden techniques involving sound, as well as gathering information on other villages and the members of the sound village. However, after a year he would discover that the Chuunin matching Yumi's description was not her, but a girl who looked similar. Disappointed, Gekkou fled the village. Alone again, without a companion or home, Gekkou became desperate. He got himself lost in the desert of the Wind country, and was picked up by patrolling border guards. They took him to the Sand hospital where he was brought up and strengthened. When he returned to full strength, he went to the Kazekage to thank him and let him know that he was forever in the Kazekage's debt. Kostas, the Kazekage, already had a plan for how Gekkou would repay him. He had heard of Gekkou's feats, as most who's job it was to know shinobi had. So, Kostas gave Gekkou the rank of Goryu, and a ring which signified the rank.
