The wind slowly settled down, the world of nothing but grainy brown faded in a blink, and there before one’s view a new wondrous landscape was revealed, dunes as far as the eye could see; like giant mountains that paid tribute to the gods of ancient legends. Along with that there was…sand….sand…so much sand. Damn, sand it had ruined the moment, this new country was now simply a dot on a map to the wandering man, wrapped in a leather cloak that hid his body for sand and sun, cast his face into shadow and added a simple air of mystery to the shadowy figure. Shadowy....oh the irony, the man chuckled a minute and then sighed, it was rather unfortunate that there was only sand to under appreciate his silent joke.
It had been a few weeks sense the man had set on his long journey but as always that was the least of his worries; for starts he had no clue where he was going, all that mattered was there was nowhere to go back to. At such a thought the silent figure went ridge, it had been a while since he had pondered it, but in all reality it was a sad solemn concept, but it was the truth; all he had ever comes to believe in was gone...well there was that place with that person and those people….out of the question! With that thought to push him forward the man continued on, the sand seemed to become more familiar and subsequently more navigable as time passed and ofr once time was on his side,; it wasn’t like he had any where to go and old age wasn’t a problem, for the man cared he could spend decades out here and he would if meant finding what he was looking for.
Hours passed and still there was nothing but sand, it was rather disappointing and amusing to the traveler though he much preferred mountains and tree to the desert, the open sky had a certain appeal to it, it made one wish that they could simply shed their form and take to the skies; funny it always sounds more fun that it was or at least so thought the figure wandering through the desert in an aimless search for something, only he didn’t even know what he was looking for or if there was the answer to his question, but that was a little bit more complicated because he didn’t exactly have a question.
All the man’s deep thoughts were cut off by the sudden sight of a tall figuring jutting out, from behind the endless mountains of sand, a small smile slid on to the man’s hidden face, where there was one building there was more, where there were buildings there were people, where there people there were shinobi, these days at least, and where there were shinobi there was knowledge of sorts and where there is knowledge there are answers. The man may have found the first step on his long journey, Just remember, you’re Shiyuki Kaysou the though resounded through the man’s head as he neared what seemed to be a large village.
(Let’s face it I’m out of practice)
